Abstract
In submitting the subjoined Preliminary List of Fossil Elephant and Mastodon remain in Illinois and Iowa, which is believed to be the first of its kind in the states, the compiler does not intend to imply that the list is nearly complete; she is impelled to publish the results of her research, thus far, in the hope that such a list may be of assistance in securing further date along the line.
