Abstract
The purpose of this investigation was to continue and expand the evaluation of the Gilson Porta Splitter, to determine the causes and resolve the differences previously encountered, and to determine if this device could be used successfully for reducing coarse aggregate samples in the field to the required minimum sample of 10 kg. The Bituminous Physical Section of the Laboratory was assigned the responsibility of performing the necessary tests and submitting the test data.
