Abstract

This bulletin reports the first two phases of a project on bridge abutment wingwalls of the flared type. The first stage of this project was a literature review and a questionnaire survey. The second stage of this project establishes a feasible analytical method for the solution of the type of plate problem associated with a wingwall.
