Abstract
The Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Office of Motor Carrier Services compiled the following information to assist motor carriers in understanding the requirements, allowing permits or certificates to be obtained more quickly and to help motor carriers determine the following. Whether a for-hire motor carrier needs a motor carrier permit or a motor carrier certificate in Iowa The type of for-hire authority the law requires a motor carrier to obtain. How to obtain the required permit or certificate.
