Abstract
The standards framework can be used by instructors to assess their own performance in providing quality instruction and services to adult students. Also, the standards provide program administrators with a frame- work for what adult education and literacy instructors should know and be able to demonstrate. By completing a self-assessment, instructors can identify their strengths, as well as areas needing improvement. This is meant to furnish the data to make informed decisions in providing professional development activities and personal exploration.
