Abstract
Recent television documentaries, published studies, and newspaper articles have drawn national attention to the impact of domestic violence both on the family and on society as a whole. Like child abuse, the costs of domestic violence, especially spouse-battering and sexual abuse, if added up, would run into millions (if not billions) of dollars not to mention the inestimable social and psychological costs. In order to better track characteristics associated with this problem, the Bureau of Evaluations (in collaboration with the Division of Social Services) developed the Domestic Abuse Project Service Use and Client Information System (DAPSUCIS). Quarterly newsletters provide formative information to OHS as well as State Advisory Co1T111ittee and other interested persons. The attached report contains both fourth quarter and annual information for FY1984, grant funded projects.
