Abstract

The Transit Development Plan (TOP) provides policy recommendations for the coordination of public and private transportation services within the City of Fort Dodge, Iowa and a portion of Hamilton and Webster Counties (See Figure 1). Prepared through cooperative efforts of transit providers, city officials, and transit system users, the TOP evaluates current services, assesses the transportation needs of the City, and builds upon previous plans to provide recommendations for future action. Justification for state and federal assistance to public transit providers is also included, as is documentation of efforts to include private providers of transportation services in the planning process.
