Abstract
A stonemason and a farmer, Daniel Lehman moved with his family to Bremer County, Iowa, in 1854. They purchased this farm in 1857 after living for a short time in Waverly, the county seat. Serving briefly as Bremer County Sheriff, Lehman played a minor role in the development of the area. His real historical contribution, however, was like that of thousands of other pioneers who moved to northeastern Iowa in the late 1850s.
