Abstract
A mathematical model for the determination of the surface temperature of materials on the surface of the earth is derived and solved numerically. The materials is assumed to be opaque and compact. Its surface is assumed to be flat and coincident with the plane of the earth's surface. The problem is mathematically represented by the one dimensional heat conduction equation and boundary condition.
