Abstract
This publication was written to meet the home economic needs of the educable intellectually disabled. It seems important that this material be designed for both home economics and special class teachers. While this document is concerned with home management and maintenance skills, teachers are encouraged to teach related concepts and skills. The areas of home management and maintenance considered are similar to those covered in most home economics classes for regular students. This includes : grooming and personality, home management and maintenance, clothing, food, and child care. Its purpose is to stress the importance of certain areas of home management and maintenance to the education of the intellectually disabled and to suggest activities and resources.
