Abstract

This report is based on an external origin destination traffic survey which was made in Knoxville by the Iowa State Highway Commission in July of 1966. The survey was conducted in cooperation with the United States Bureau of Public Roads and was made to determine the total number and type of vehicles entering or leaving the study area along with specific origin-destination data from a representative sample of vehicle operators. The purpose of this report is to summarize the data gathered in Knoxville and to present this data in a manner which will implement the determination of traffic needs and thereby provide a sound basis for street and highway planning.
