Abstract

This white paper has been developed by the Iowa Association of Adult and Continuing Education Deans and Directors to address the role of Iowa's community college adult and continuing education divisions within the infrastructure of Iowa's Workforce Development Centers. The concepts presented in this paper represent the position of the Iowa Association of Adult and Continuing Education Deans and Directors. The mission of Iowa's community colleges includes economic and workforce development through lifelong learning programs and customized training. With increasing international competition, Iowa's business and industry have perceived the community colleges as the resource to develop programs that increase the skill level of Iowa's workforce.
