Abstract

The Department of Public Instruction of Iowa receives numerous and varied inquiries relative to the consolidated schools of this state. These inquiries co1ne not only from Iowa superintendents, teachers and school patrons, but also from individuals in other states who are interested in the consolidated school movement. Graduate students in the departn1ents of education in colleges and universities both in this and other states frequently choose some phase of the consolidated school as a basis for thesis study and request our assistance in making their surveys. Departments of Public Instruction of other states and research specialists for the Federal Bureau of Education. submit inquiries from time to time relative to the subject.
