Abstract

This appendix documents the methodology and results of economic and social impact analyses for the Ames Reservoir Review Study. Economic analysis is considered integrally with all other impacts within the study, reflecting a conviction that environmental impact statements should explicitly highlight tradeoffs between environmental and economic interests. Social impacts are considered in the broadest interpretation of environment, whereby effects upon human resources are as pertinent to project evaluation as effects upon physical resources. The studies made as a part of this appendix report have received administrative support from several groups at the University of Iowa and Iowa State University.
