Abstract
Two sections of this plan covering economic forecasts for the next twenty years and analysis of Iowa and it's competitors look at our current economic performance and the environment where we compete. Turning to the future, the plan discusses key trends for the next twenty years and options available when developing economic development policy. The section on options presents the range of program responses to economic development issues and anticipates the service and program delivery of the future. As an outgrowth of the previous sections in the plan, ten long term strategies are then recommended. The last section of the plan presents a vision of success for the state where these strategies are realized and Iowa's preferred future is described.
