Abstract

During the 74th General Assembly, 1991 Session, a resolution, SCR 41 was passed that called for the establishment of a task force to study issues related to reform of Iowa's education system. The Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade Education Reform Study Committee was established during the summer of 1991 by the Legislative Council to study Iowa's primary and secondary education delivery system over a two-year period and to recommend to the General Assembly goals and any legislation necessary to reform Iowa's early childhood, primary, and secondary education system. The Legislative Council appointed a total of 23 members; eight of whom are members of the Senate, eight of whom are members of the House of Representatives, and seven of whom are members of the general public.
