Abstract
The Siouxland Studies is a series of reports describing research on several aspects of governmental services and administration in a generalized metropolitan region whose center is Sioux City, Iowa. This is the first report of the series, It identifies and describes the units of local government operating within the Siouxland area. The importance of having a description such as this becomes apparent when it is realized that there are at least governmental units in the four county area, many of which are widely disparate in form and functions. Information for the report was obtained primarily from talks with officials of these local governments.
