Abstract
This report serves as a introduction to patterns of economic and social activity in the north central region of the United States. It is one of a series of reports sponsored by the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development examining issues in the developments of rural regions. This report surveys population patterns, agriculture activity, local and county government expenditure patterns, and income distributing.
