Abstract
The purpose of the Comprehensive Plan is to provide a program for the orderly and efficient growth and development of the Town of Smithland. The Plan is concerned with the effective use of land, structures and open space, both public and private, to make the community a desirable place in which to live and work. This report presents the results of planning studies and analyses leading to the development of a Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Smithland. The studies include population trends and characteristics, economic factors, use of land and structures, public utilities and streets, educational and recreational facilities and an analysis of the Town's financial condition.
