Abstract
The first-level unit plan for the Office of Information Technology (OIT) envisions an information technologies environment that will provide faculty, staff, and students with the computing, telecommunications, and information resources to accomplish and surpass their expectations for excellence in research, instruction, service, and administration. It is impossible to have a first-rate university without a first-rate library and, increasingly, the same is said of its computing and telecommunications facilities, services, and related applications. Accordingly, the specification of our goals and objectives has been driven by the University's long-term aspiration to be among the top ten public institutions and by the special areas of focus developed by the University Strategic Planning Committee.
