Abstract
This article is a cursory examination of current practices and recommended procedures in the use of university sponsored executive development programs as they pertain to the selection of participants, programs, and the preparation of the executive for courses and reassimilation into the firm. No attempt has been made to offer a comprehensive treatment of all the problems involved in these areas. There are no oversimplified answers to the questions raised. Some readers will view certain suggestions as unnecessary, just as the authors view certain existing practices as inadequate and others as unbelievable.
