Abstract
Children’s appetites vary from day to day. Some days they may eat less than these amounts; other days they may want more. Let your child choose how much to eat. Serve water between meals or when your child is thirsty. Young children need small frequent meals and snacks. Offer snacks at least 2 hours before a meal so that your child is hungry at mealtime. Some foods are easy to choke on while eating. Cut food into small pieces and remove seeds, skin and small bones. Children need to sit when eating and should always be supervised. • Eat together, talk together and make mealtime family time.
