Abstract

Iowa recorded the same number of people diagnosed with HIV as in 2021. Despite this, there were substantial increases in diagnoses among white, US-born males in 2021 that could signal a concerning trend among gay and bisexual males in the state. There was also a significant increase in diagnoses among people who inject drugs, although the absolute number remains relatively low.
