Abstract
The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers programs in Iowa are changing the lives of at-risk children by providing high quality enrichment activities that engage children and reconnect them with the joy of learning. In 2020, we struggled through a pandemic that closed schools and programs and now we are faced with a much larger achievement gap among at-risk youth than in prior years. However, if we provide strategic interventions as schools and programs return to normalcy, we can bridge these gaps and provide hope for children and parents for the future.
