Abstract
This handbook is designed to assist teachers and students in the study of local history. Included are suggested study topics, locations of historical resources, activities, an historical overview, and a list of sources. As a teacher, your goal is to help students place local history in proper perspective-to relate local history to contemporary state, national, and world events-and to help students understand their world. Careful scheduling is important for a successful local history project.
