Abstract
General Land Office (GLO) survey plats for the State of Iowa are a record of the cultural and natural landscape of Iowa as it existed in the initial stages of its transformation by Euroamerican settlement. The plats show the locations of Native American villages and fields, as well as the first farmstead, town sites, and fields established by Euroamericans. This is a proposed project to make these valuable materials readily accessible to the general public that do not have the ability to use the physical resources.
