Abstract
The readiness and need of five-year-old children for educational experience outside of the home has been recognized and provided for by the la~;s of the State of Io~;a for a great many years. This is fortunate since recent studies of child development, mental hygiene, family life, and the psychology of learning all confirm the fact that the child of five is ready for school. Parents and others most concerned with the welfare of the young children of Iowa are in a position to turn with teachers toward the task of improving the program and facilities already established for the education of Iowa's five-year-olds.
