Abstract
The DHS budget request for SFY18 and SFY19 provides resources needed to deliver services to Iowa’s most needy and vulnerable while implementing carefully considered cost management initiatives. DHS leadership will continue to pursue cost management initiatives over the next four months leading up to the 2017 legislative session. These initiatives will be considered in light of the resources necessary to achieve our strategic goals while recognizing the challenges of continuing predictability and stability in the state budget.
