Abstract

Morphological studies of slime molds have consisted mainly of taxonomic investigations and developmental studies. External characters have been used in taxonomy as well as those internal characters which are readi1y seen by microscopic examination of the sporangia. The early workers in the field based their classifications primarily on external appearances.
