Abstract
This section summarizes the findings of the Landfill Material Analysis Report in the form of infographics. The focus of this section is recoverability of materials and the impact the diverted materials may have on emissions reductions, job creation, and commodity revenue. The full report containing the executive summary, background, methodology, and results can be seen following this section. The overview depicts various results and impacts from diverting recoverable materials from landfill disposal. Based on results of the 2022 Iowa Statewide Material Characterization Study, material components were classified as shown in the graphic below. This graphic shows over 70 percent of the waste stream as divertible.
