Abstract
The Iowa Department of Transportation is responsible for intermodal transportation planning. Airport planning is an important consideration in the development of intermodal transportation facilities. An essential part of airport planning is aircraft operations. Primary sources for aircraft operations include the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for airports that have control towers, estimates from managers at airports that do not have control towers and from manual observation of aircraft operations at airports. This report addresses the latter of these primary sources.
