Abstract
Recognizing that improvements in motorist safety and transportation efficiency have been realized in some cities through improved signal system operation, Sioux City undertook a study to determine if similar improvements were feasible. The objectives of the study were to determine deficiencies in the existing signal system and to define the modernization to the system necessary to provide the level of operation required to meet the transportation objectives of the City.
