Abstract

This bulletin presents a general description and summary of the current organization and functions of the department. It's purpose is to present information and guidance for those interested and concerned and to provide the background and basis for continuing evaluation of the organization, functional structure and procedures necessary for the accomplishment of the basic department mission. This mission, briefly stated, is to bring to the citizens of Iowa successfully applied techniques and practices of public health knowledge for the prevention of disease and disability and the maintenance of physical and mental well-being and effectiveness throughout a prolonged life span.
