Abstract

Shovelnose Sturgeon are in high demand as a commercial food fish in the upper Mississippi River. since little was known about the harvest potential and suitability of existing regulations, investigations were conducted to survey commercial harvest, study life history of the species and evaluate the present system for reporting catch statistics.
