Abstract
At the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), performance improvement (PI) is the name given to the formal tools and processes used to better understand challenges, set goals, develop strategies, evaluate progress, and improve outcomes. This name was inspired by the intentional and collaborative integration of the Performance Management and Quality Improvement programs.
