Abstract

The City of Bettendorf has recently annexed a large tract of land north of the developed part of the city, resulting in a total a rea for the City of 4, 130 acres, or approximately 6- 1/4 square miles. This represents a four fold increase in city area, most of which is now undeveloped for urban uses, a number of problems of municipal development are to be met by the city in the future. At the current rate of development, many of these development problems require solutions now. Th is situation has prompted the City of Bettendorf to prepare an Official City Plan.
