Abstract

Accident Facts is primarily intended for those whose duties and interests are for the promotion and safety on the highways and streets of our state. It is intended to assist in intelligent planning of accident prevention programs-also to stimulate an eagerness in the carrying out of such a program. Although deaths resulting from motor vehicle accidents during 1942 dropped from 601 to 397, this total represents untold anguish and sorrow in hundreds of Iowa homes. By making available to you these facts and figures it is hoped that observance of our present traffic rules and regulations will further reduce accidents and fatalities on the streets and highways in our state. This 1943 issue of Accident Facts is, therefore, dedicated to aiding in the further reduction in deaths and injuries, any of which means a loss hindering our war effort.
