Abstract

The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is preparing the planning study for Interstate 380 (I-380) which extends from U.S. 30 in Cedar Rapids to just north of I-80. Interstate 380 is vital to the Iowa economy – providing the infrastructure to move people and goods throughout the region. The department is conducting this study following the planning environmental linkages (PEL) model. The purpose of this planning study is to determine whether the current infrastructure will meet the transportation demands over the next 30 years and identify the potential infrastructure improvements necessary in the foreseeable future.
