Abstract
The research reported in this publication on was supported in part by a National Institute on Aging grant to the Center for Studies on Older Rural populations. This report examines age from the censuses conducted from 1940 through 1990. In addition, a glimpse of the fut1ure is provided through projections to the year 2010. The focus in the tables is on counties, primarily because the trends differ greatly across Iowa.
