Abstract
The purpose of this pre-packet is to provide selected information concerning a concept called "Mainstreaming" which has permeated much of the current educational literature. There is an increasing concern among educators from various perspectives that education does not wholesale handicapped children and adolescents back into learning environments in which they will be unable to cope or benefit. Dr. Edward L. Meyen in a speech delivered in Iowa, November 6, 1974, aptly stated what educators in Iowa.
