Abstract
This study has been made accordingly. It concerns itself with a single major category of farm inputs; namely, chemical fertilizers. Since the demand for food is inelastic, a reduction in marketing's causes revenue to increase. Federal farm programs of recent years have recognized this interrelationship of the farm sector with consumer markets. They have provided payments to farmers for idling land in order to reduce marketing and increase farm income.
