Abstract
Death rates for infants, children and teens are widely recognized as valuable measures of child well-being. To better understand why and how our children die, the Iowa Child Death Review Team (CDRT) was formed in 1995. The primary goal of the CDRT is to reduce the number of child fatalities through systematic multidisciplinary review, education of professionals and the general public, and recommendations for legislation and public policy.
