Abstract

The study of the veins associated with the kidneys of the turtle Chryseniys marginata belli (Gray) and their development was undertaken to ascertain the presence or absence of a renal portal system in the adult of this species, to trace its development if present and the development of certain veins closely related to the kidneys and which would probably be involved in the embryological formation of such a system.
