Abstract
The author of this pamphlet did not appreciate the full significance of this fact, however, until his responsibilities as a supervisor provided an opportunity to visit hundreds of classrooms. This privilege made it possible to observe the work of many teachers with varying degrees of training, teaching under a wide variety of conditions at all levels from the beginning primary grades up to and including the high school.
