Abstract

This paper prepared by the Iowa Department of Revenue examines the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982 and its impact on Iowa tax receipts. Estimating techniques which are consistent with those used in examinations of the 1981 federal legislation have been utilized. This examination is based on the assumption that relevant changes in the Internal Revenue Code are adopted for Iowa tax purposes. Actual legislative proposals may provide for additional adjustments in state law that limit or extend the effect of the federal changes.
