Abstract
This report summarizes where, how much and for what purpose water is allocated for use in Iowa with permits issued by the Department of Water, Air and Waste Management. The information presented in this report was compiled to summarize the amount of water allocated through the Department of Water, Air and Waste Management's (DWAWM) water permit system. The data used in this report includes all active permits that were issued by DWAWM prior to July 26, 1985. This data represents maximum permitted withdrawals and not necessarily actual use.
