Abstract
Blue-green algae is a nuisance in many Iowa waters, particularly those lakes with high nutrient inflow £ran heavily fertilized, row cropped land. Nuisance blooms are detrimental to swimming, water skiing and fishing. Blooms are esthetically unpleasant and may even produce a toxin harmful to fish.
