Abstract

This study was concerned with a later evaluation of the survival and growth of 15 tree species of conifers and hardwoods planted in 1952 and 1953 by Einspahr (1955) on six classes of coal-spoil materials. The objective was to determine 7 - to 8-year survival and growth of the 15 tree species on the various classes of spoil material and to make this information available to landowners and strip mine operators for future coal- spoil reclamation.
