Abstract
Projections of the total population of Iowa and its counties can be reported for age categories as well as for the total population. The tables on the following pages break the totals for the state and the 99 counties into five-year age groups. These projections are based on birth and death trends, migration into and out of an area, or employment opportunities; assumptions then were made about how these trends may change in the next decade.
