Abstract

2,000 rural families in nine North Central states furnished the information presented in this report. Almost all the families operated farms at the time of interview. Both objective data about assets and expenditures and subjective data about attitudes and expectations were obtained and analyzed. Financial security is defined here as the assurance that resources will be available to meet future financial needs.
